Located between South Kashmir’s Breng Valley (Kashmir Region) and Kishtwar(Jammu Region), Sinthan Top is a mountain pass that is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the region. At a height of 3800 m, Sinthan Top draws many tourists with 360° gorgeous views of both the Jammu Region and Kashmir Regions. The zigzag and uphill road to the summit is mostly paved. It’s called Anantnag-Kokernag-Kishtwar NH1B Highway. It was resurfaced in 2018. The new highway is well-built and secure and almost effortlessly takes you to the top. High risk of rock slides.
Located within the Pir Panjal mountain range, adverse weather conditions are common. Ice and snow can be on the way. Expect snow even in June. The road up is usually met with snow-formed streams at many places. During most parts of the year, the area remains inaccessible due to heavy snowfall. It is open only during the four summer months.
Shutterbugs get delighted on reaching the Sinthan Top as it offers fabulous panoramas of snow-covered terrains. They can click beautiful photographs of the low-lying areas visible from this elevated region. Hundreds of turns along the way. The drive is definitely worth it. The nearby Sinthan Maidan (24 km) is also becoming an essential hub for trekking, mountaineering and skiing enthusiasts. Also, Sinthan Maidan is a great family destination with activities like horse riding and paragliding on offer.

By Air: The nearest airport to Sinthan Top is at Srinagar (135.5 km) and from Jammu airport it is 330 Km. via Kishtwar.
By Train: The nearest railhead is at Udhampur (166 Kms), and another railhead is at Jammu Tawi (240 Kms)
By Road: Buses ply between Kishtwar to Anantnag via Sinthan top, only in summer. You can pick up other services like Sumo, Taxi, Tavera, etc from Srinagar
